How can I retrieve the download link or license key for my purchased products
Download links and license keys for all your purchases via www.shipsim.com can be found in your "Orders & Downloads" section. You need to login before you can retrieve this information.
Will Ship Simulator Extremes run on my pc?
Please check the system requirements at the bottom of the Ship Simulator Extremes webpage.
Notice that Ship Simulator is not compatible with Intel HD Graphics chipsets that are commonly used in laptops.
How can I request a new license key
If you have lost your license key for a Ship Simulator product you can send an email to administration@shipsim.com with a digital copy of your original receipt attached to the email.
After we have verified your purchase, we will send you a replacement license key via email.
When I click on Missions, it is empty! There are no missions.
Ship Simulator Extremes has more than 30 missions by default that can be played in the campaign mode. The mission list that can be found at "Single mission" is reserved for downloadable missions.
To Download missions:
1. Register your license key in your account information on forum.shipsim.com
2. Download missions in the game via menu item "Download content".
3. Play the downloaded mission by selecting it in the mission list (Play ->Single mission) .
My license key is not working
Ensure that you are using a Windows user account with administrator rights. This is required to complete the license key validation.
Nothing happens if I press the "Purchase now" or "Pre-order now" button.
Pressing these buttons on the website adds the selected product to your shopping cart. You can see the contents of your shopping cart by clicking on the cart symbol at the top-center of the webpage. Please check before ordering if the correct number of products is in the shopping cart. You can change the quantity by filling in the correct quantity and then the button "Update cart". Press the "Checkout" button to continue with the the ordering process.
Will Ship Simulator run on Windows 8 & 10?
ShipSim is fully compatible with Windows 8, 8.1 & 10
However, make sure if your computer meets the minimum system requirements to run the game: http://www.shipsim.com/products/shipsimulatorextremes
The game constantly asks for my license key at startup
On some computers it is mandatory to run the game EXE once by rightmouseclicking the icon and choosing "Run as administrator". Even though your Windows user account already has administrator rights, this will solve the issue.
Did I (pre-) order a boxed or download version of Ship Simulator?
Please login on the website and see your order overview for information on the ordered products. In the product description or delivery type you can see if your order is a boxed or download version.
Graphical artifacts
If you are experiencing graphical artifacts, please make sure you meet the minimal system requirements. These can be found here; http://www.shipsim.com/products/shipsimulatorextremes
Graphical artifacts can be, but are not exclusive to;
- No ocean, black ocean, ocean that looks like a grid, ocean with major graphical artifacts.
- No sky, black sky.
- Ships look glitched, no textures, distorted textures.
Take note that your videocard needs to support shadermodel 3.0 in order for the game to run properly.
If you meet the requirements, but still have graphical artifacts, you can try to do the following;
- Install the latest drivers for you videocard.
- Turn down graphics settings from the control panel of your videocard, mainly anti-aliasing (AA) and anisotropic filtering (AF). Lower these setting or turn them off completely.
- Close as many background processes as possible while running the game.
