Notice that Ship Simulator is not compatible with Intel HD Graphics chipsets that are commonly used in laptops.

When you receive a ban on the forum, you will receive an email from one of the forum moderators with the reason for this action, the type and duration of the ban.

You must contact this moderator if you have additional questions or for possible resolutions.

If you receive a missing DLL or Questviewer error after installing an update, then this is usually caused by the Windows VirtualStore.

Please try to run the program unregister.exe from the installation folder of Ship Simulator 2008 (default location C:\Program Files\Vstep\Ship Simulator2008\). This program cleans the "Virtual store".

If you are familiar with computers you can also choose to fix this by emptying the Virtual Store manually. To do so open your windows explorer window and proceed to the following folder: “C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\”. Delete any file or folder inside the VSTEP folder.

If this folder does not exist, your Virtual Store is already empty.

Please note that you need to have the "Show hidden files and folder" option on, otherwise you will not see these folders.

ShipSim.com uses registrered mail for all international shipments.

The standard delivery time for shipments to european countries is 5-10 business days. Shipements to non-european countries can take up to 15 business days.

Download links and license keys for all your purchases via www.shipsim.com can be found in your "Orders & Downloads" section. You need to login before you can retrieve this information.

The only option to contact the ShipSim.com support desk is via the Contact form on the website.

It is not possible to contact the support desk via phone or fax.

If the game stops running after loading up until 95%, then your Graphics card does not meet the minimum required specifications or the graphics drivers installed on your system are outdated.

The NCIS error when loading a downloaded setup file is caused by an incomplete or currupt download. You must re-download the game to be able to install the game.

Unfortunately our game engine software only includes support for DirectX, which is not supported by Apple/Macintosh computers.

After starting up the game, it prompts with DLL-errors, missing channels-errors, gives a black screen.

Usually these problems are related to a graphics card that does not meet the minimum requirements. If you are sure your system exceeds the minimum requirements you can follow these steps to get the game to work:

1. Try to run the game as an administrator (Rightmouse clicking on the SSE icon or on the Steam icon before starting steam and choosing "Run as administrator")

2. Reinstalling Nvidea PhysX
The PhysX software can sometimes be improperly installed without notice. In such case it is adviced to remove any existing Nvidia PhysX installation and reinstall it again. You can download it here:

3. C++ Redistributables
Sometimes, the proper C++ runtime libraries are missing. You can download the ones ShipSim uses here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347
You won't need to remove any previous versions. After you've clicked on the download button you can select all three items. Your computer will only install the correct redistributables.
After the installation is done, try to run the game.

4.Refreshing Virtualstore & registry data
Try to run the program Clean_vstore.exe & Unregister.exe from the installation folder of Ship Simulator Extremes. This cleans your profile and the "Virtual store". The programs will not open any window or dialog.

5. If you are using Steam, you could try validating Steam's cache files.

6. Windows update
Make sure you have all latest updates installed for your Windows version. Outdated Windows versions are known to cause issues with the game.

7. Graphics driver update
Outdated graphics drivers can cause the game to crash. Make sure you have your latest AMD or Nvidia drivers installed.

Ship Simulator Extremes has more than 30 missions by default that can be played in the campaign mode. The mission list that can be found at "Single mission" is reserved for downloadable missions.

To Download missions:
1. Register your license key in your account information on forum.shipsim.com
2. Download missions in the game via menu item "Download content".
3. Play the downloaded mission by selecting it in the mission list (Play ->Single mission) .

Please ensure that you are logged in with the same account as used for your purchases.

If the problem persists please contact our support desk and include the order information in your email.

Please be advised that if your computer does not meet these minimum requirements, the game may experience errors, poor performance,or may not run at all.

ShipSim.com accepts:

We do not accept bank transfers, checks or money orders.

This issue is caused by graphics cards that to do not meet the minimum specs or have outdated drivers. Please try toupdate your graphics drivers, if this does not help you will require to purchase a newer graphics card that meets the minimum requirements.

If you have lost your license key for a Ship Simulator product you can send an email to administration@shipsim.com with a digital copy of your original receipt attached to the email.

After we have verified your purchase, we will send you a replacement license key via email.

A new password can be requested with your username or e-mail address on the following website.
 

Unfortunately Ship Simulator Extremes is not available on Mac.
We did hear some success stories of people that were able to run it with Windows on their Mac through "Bootcamp" or by using a Windows emulator. But it requires some effort to make it work.

An e-mail with your username and password will be send if you request a new password by filling in your e-mail adres at the following website.

Please first check your spam/junk folder for the activation email.

If this does not help, can use the "re-sent activation email" option in the login screen to have another activation email sent to your email address.

The Ship Simulator Add-On is an expansion pack for Ship Simulator 2006. The error shows that Ship Simulator 2006 is not yet installed on your system

Pressing these buttons on the website adds the selected product to your shopping cart. You can see the contents of your shopping cart by clicking on the cart symbol at the top-center of the webpage. Please check before ordering if the correct number of products is in the shopping cart. You can change the quantity by filling in the correct quantity and then the button "Update cart".  Press the "Checkout" button to continue with the the ordering process.

Ensure that you are using a Windows user account with administrator rights. This is required to complete the license key validation.

If your address information is incorrect, please send the correct address via a contact request.

On some computers it is mandatory to run the game EXE once by rightmouseclicking the icon and choosing "Run as administrator". Even though your Windows user account already has administrator rights, this will solve the issue.

This issue is caused by conflicting language files.Install and run the Ship Simulator 2006 Language patch to fix this issue.

If you are experiencing an error with "libmysql.dll", create a backup of your current "libmysql.dll" in your "WINDOWS/System32" folder. Then copy the "libmysql.dll" from the "ship_simulator_2006_installation_path/3rd" folder to your "WINDOWS/System32" folder.

If you are experiencing graphical artifacts, please make sure you meet the minimal system requirements. These can be found here; http://www.shipsim.com/products/shipsimulatorextremes

Graphical artifacts can be, but are not exclusive to;

- No ocean, black ocean, ocean that looks like a grid, ocean with major graphical artifacts.

- No sky, black sky.

- Ships look glitched, no textures, distorted textures.

Take note that your videocard needs to support shadermodel 3.0 in order for the game to run properly.

If you meet the requirements, but still have graphical artifacts, you can try to do the following;

- Install the latest drivers for you videocard.

- Turn down graphics settings from the control panel of your videocard, mainly anti-aliasing (AA) and anisotropic filtering (AF). Lower these setting or turn them off completely.

- Close as many background processes as possible while running the game.

Please login on the website and see your order overview for information on the ordered products. In the product description or delivery type you can see if your order is a boxed or download version.

After installing the 1.2.2 update, the game prompt with a pop-up where it indicates multiple uniqueIDs are found. After this pop-up, no missions appear in the game.

A small hotfix for this problem can be found on the forum. Get it there and run it on your pc.

If you receive an error while installing patch v1.5.7 claiming that you need at least v1.4.0 installed, you can fix this by following these few steps:

• Click on Start
• Type in the search box "Regedit"
• Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Vstep\ShipSimExtremes
• On the right side, there's a list with strings. Double click on the one which says "Build"
• Change the value to 1101
• Now open the patch to see if it wants to install
