Ship Simulator 2008 Professional includes the following features:
All vessels and environments of Ship Simulator 2008 and the New Horizons add-on, 25 vessels and 8 environments.
A Multiplayer server application which you can use to configure and run your own multiplayer sessions.
Mission Editor to create your own custom missions, optimized for your training or demonstration objectives
NMEA input and output communications for external chart devices, AIS monitors, and other navigation instruments. You can use up to eight serial connections, to configure different NMEA sentences separately, like different update frequencies, baud rates etc. You can also use Ethernet instead of serial communications. Nineteen NMEA output sentences are supported, and eight input sentences.
Special Exhibition Mode, allowing a specific mission to automatically start-up when Ship Simulator 2008 Professional starts, and allowing the user-interface to be adapted especially for exhibition displays. Waypoint messages are much larger, and centered on the screen. With the Exhibition Mode you can realize unmanned exhibition or museum stations, allowing people to play just one or a few selected missions combined with a suitable hardware ship bridge configuration.
Advanced Ship Dynamics Editor, which can be used to change vessel properties like displacement, engine thrust and allocation, steering forces, and dynamic vessel responses to waves. Maneuvering data can be saved in an EXCEL table for further analysis.
Bridge Editor to place bridge navigation instruments, navigation lights, and mooring/towing connection points. You can use these editor to add or change the position of these elements on any of the vessels included in Ship Simulator 2008 Professional.
These features make Ship Simulator 2008 Professional a flexible tool for both training tool and exhibitions.
Ship Simulator 2008 Professional is aimed for release in October 2008. The price will be EUR 2000 per installation. Volume discounts are possible starting at 10 licenses.
